Kanye West Says He's a 'Better Human Being' Because of Kim Kardashian and North

Kanye West opened up about how his marriage to Kim Kardashian changed his life during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday, January 29.
"I've definitely learned how to compromise more," Kanye told Ellen Degeneres.

"Which is something you have to understand when you partner with people in business," the "Gold Digger" rapper added as his wedding photo was shown in the background. "And I've learned how to shut up more. Yeah, I think I'm a better human being because of her, and because of my daughter. "

 He explained, "I always have someone to think about going home to. And, you know, something for me to be brave for what I want to do for humanity, but also to be more protective of myself for my family too. Cause there are things I've done in the past that were considered negative, but I was really jumping in front of the tank for other people or for culture in a way, so now I always have to have that in my mind that I have a family that I have to protect too."

Ellen said Kanye became calmer since he got married to Kim. "I do see that changing you... and you are calmer... You don't seem like, uh.. angry," she told him, "And I don't know if it was even anger but it was just the way you getting all of your emotions out. And now I think your emotions are grounded in a way they come out in, what you've said, protection and love and they're channeled in different way."

Kanye responded, "I think I was going through my version of my terrible twos. My daughter, she wants to express herself, and she just doesn't have the words for it. And for me, there was so many things I wanted to do with film and clothing, and I just didn't have the words or the resources or the backing or the perception that I could do it being that I was a rapper."

When asked about his plan on having more kids, Kanye replied, "Yeah, we're trying." Ellen then asked Kanye if he wants to have "a bunch" of children like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. "I just want whatever Kim wants," he said, to which Ellen responded, "Wow, that's a good answer, whether it's true or not."
