President Barack Obama's casual salute while walking off Marine One has landed POTUS in some very hot water.


Barack and Michelle Obama touched down in NYC Tuesday to speak at the U.N., and he saluted his Marine Corps guards while still gripping a cup of Joe in his right hand.

Critics jumped on BO, claiming it was an un-Presidential break from protocol -- while supporters call it

meaningless, because he simply ran out of hands. His left hand was busy holding his suit coat together.

Obviously, the White House didn't think it was a big deal since the vid was posted on its official Instagram.

So we gotta ask ...
